Q: Can you provide a brief background about yourself, your family, and your business?

I was born in Argentina and in 2003, I left for New Zealand, initially planning to travel for a year or so. That trip ended up becoming a five-year journey. We then moved to Australia in 2007. I started working at Clarke Global Logistics in 2010 as a Licensed Customs Broker, and within 18 months, I became a Director, then BDM, and was appointed as Managing Director in 2021. Our company has been around since 1917, making it one of the oldest customs and freight firms in Victoria. We service all of Australia for anything coming from anywhere in the world. Additionally, our export department's revenue has increased by 27% as we’ve successfully engaged new clients and secured new business.

Q: What inspired you to be an entrepreneur?

The constant challenge, the way of thinking about new ways of doing things differently, the constant push to innovate yourself for a new you.

Q: What aspects of being an entrepreneur do you enjoy the most?

The independence in making your own decisions.

Q: What significant challenges have you encountered as an entrepreneur?

It involved separating from a previous business partner in 2021, a process that had begun indirectly three years earlier but reached its climax that year, in the midst of COVID. It included working with lawyers and six months of learning how to be tough in every aspect… all while running the business as if nothing was happening.

Q: What motivated you to join EO?

It was about learning more from other EO members. For years, I had been involved only in my industry and attending conferences focused on what we do every day. Hence, I felt it was time to start sharing and learning from others about their challenges and the problems they face on a daily basis.

Q: Can you share a valuable lesson you’ve learned from your own experience or from another entrepreneur or mentor?

In business, never give up, even in your darkest moments. In sales, I always tell my team, 'Pick up the phone and talk to your client.'
